Life In The Upper Valley

People, Places, and Things Worth Sharing Vol. 1

This is the first entry in a new series I call People, Places, and Things Worth Sharing. We love living in the Upper Valley, and it's due in part to the diversity of the region's offerings and opportunities available to anyone who lives, works or visits the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont.

There is a multitude of Farm-to-Table options in New Hampshire and Vermont. Offerings abound, including craft beer, spirits, poultry beef, lamb, pork, vegetables, and fruits. It's worth noting that the Union of Concerned Scientists ranked Vermont 1st and New Hampshire 3rd in the country in terms of Farm and Food Health in 2018.

One Vermont farm, in particular, specializes in sheep and lamb. Sheep Meadow Farm in Danville, Vermont, supplies our local COOP Food Store with its products. Joshua Pick is the sole owner/operator and has a degree in sustainable agriculture from Stirling College. Joshua takes great care in raising their sheep, which is apparent in their offerings. I can share with you that I have never had a better rack of lamb than the one my wife prepared for my birthday last week!

The more you know about your food sources, the more likely you will buy from local sources!
